My Philosophy is about Personal Growth

​

I have been an art educator for 35 years. I love teaching. As a teacher, it was my job to pull out the talents that each student possessed. I loved seeing students grow as learners, and as people. It was so rewarding seeing them become excited when they completed a piece that they never imagined they could ever create. Their confidence in themselves and their abilities grew stronger along with their pride and belief in who they were.

 

I have always believed that anyone can do anything if they believed in themselves. We are all at different stages or levels in our learning process. Everyone has a starting point in the things we do. True learning and growth comes from us moving forward to better ourselves. Life lessons are all about our openness to grow as a people. If you think you can't, you can't. If you think you can, then do.

 

Students have often told me that I believed more in them that they did in themselves. I knew a student was engaged in learning when the grade was not important but the love of doing it and wanting to know more was. I am passionate about what I do. Doing what I love, having fun, and expressing myself through art has been a gift. I have been blessed and want to share that same experience with others.
